An introduction from our new Brazilian Ambassador - Talita Biasoli
It is well understood that Brazil has great ambitions. As we see the country develop into a truly international hub for business and tourism, so we have seen an increase in the amount of Nationals travelling to other parts of the world. Be it for business, pleasure or the pursuit of knowledge.
I have been studying at UEA for nigh on three years; however, there is a sincere lack of the ‘Brazilian Pride’ that is so prominent in other parts of the country. Only last week, I was wolfing down a plate full of Feijoada whilst watching a troupe of Capoeiristas performing by the locks in Camden Town.
In actuality, within the vicinity of UEA, we are a breed that is relatively rare; with only a dozen full time students haling from our tropical nation. Our plan is to change that. As Brazilian Ambassador my role is to liaise with potential students, handling any queries or concerns they may have with regards to student life in the U.K. and Norwich. I will also be answering any questions students may have whilst here. Much like a student representative, any suggestions should be sent my way and I will do my utmost to see that they are given due consideration.
To show UEA’s continued dedication to the development of Anglo-Brazilian relationships, they have created a project aimed specifically at Brazilian undergraduates and postgraduates. The subsidised scheme, which offers placements for those interested in the sciences, allows students to study in an internationally renowned facility due to its pioneering work in climate change, biomedical science, plant sciences and computer graphics development.
