"Do you think it will rain? " , "When do you think it'll start snowing?", "I heard on the news yesterday that the snow's coming in on Friday". Everyone who was here last year in December/ January can testify that it was the most horrible weather seen in quite some time. Welcome back to UEA for the spring semester 2012! It has been a great 4 weeks of Christmas holiday break! Some of you, including myself, would be pretty much very busy with work and assignments due within these first 2 weeks of the spring term! But not to fear because the CHINESE LUNAR NEW YEAR FESTIVAL is coming your way!!! The Chinese Lunar New Year also known as the spring festival is based on the cycle of the moon (12 zodiac animals). This year it falls next Monday, 23rd January 2012. When asked we tend to just say 'It is somewhere on the East Side of England, near Cambridge' and they would be like 'OHH I KNOW Cambridge!' but never Norwich. Hello everyone, As we are approaching to the end of the winter term (OH FINALLY), I think its a good idea to relax and put University aside of you. Time flew this semester with the amount of school work, adapting to your new life at UEA or even Norwich, meeting new friends, joining your school societies, learning how to cook and even for some of you, still homesick (I hope your coping well). Hello people, As many of you will be coming to Norwich, or England in general, to study, I thought it is a good idea to inform you about the critiria you should pay attention to when choosing your new house/accomodation. Having lived outside campus for 2 years and having moved into two different houses in Norwich, I can tell you that I have made all the wrong choices one can make when choosing a house so listen up in order to learn from my mistakes! If you found an advertisment or if you heard about a house which sounds interesting, all you have to do is to find the contact information of the owner and ask him for a "viewing". He/She will then arrange for you to view the house and see it from inside. Now, this is the most important moment of your decision-making process. The first thing you need to check when you walk in the house is the temperature.
