UK Winters!

Coming from Karachi, Pakistan where winters are comparatively quite mild and pleasant, adapting to UK winters for me definitely was a challenging difference! Especially because I despise wearing layers and layers of clothing! BUT, despite the weather, I have started to love winter time in the UK.
This post of mine will be generally talking about what I've been up to this year and what are some of the activities and places to look forward to!

Amidst the third year work load and lengthy work application processes, I love indulging in winter festivities around Norwich and London!

  1. Hit the markets!

My personal favourites are the Old Spitafields Market and Camden Market in London! The former has a huge collection of Vintage clothing and goods and is an indoor market. (If you're a cheese lover like me, you will love this lil shop and restaurant Androuet- their cheese fondues are too good!). Plus it's generally less crowded in comparison to Camden Market, in case you're not a fan of crowds.
You can't visit London and not go to Camden Market... It's got over a 1000 shops and stalls selling literally a bit of everything- food, clothes, art and music collections. These markets are opened all year round, but visiting them in the winter is even more fun. They sell great Christmas merchandise, have heated bars with blankets and of course, who doesn't love some hot chocolate in cold weather from Time Out London's best chocoholic go to- Chin Chin Laboratorists!

2. Christmas Lights and Decorations!

You'll get to see some stunning lights all around UK! (Get ready to bombard your phone gallery with loads of pictures)
My favourite ones are the Tunnel of Light- (Norwich right infront of The Forum) and the display at Oxford Circus (London). It's an amazing feeling to walk around with such pretty views all around you! (Makes up for the early darkness during the day!)

3. Theme Parks!!!
Best thing about UK Winters- spectacular winter themed amusement parks. Even if you're not a fan of thrilling free falls or roller coasters- you will love the activities and festive warmth here.
Winterville
Winter Wonderland
I have visited two so far- Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park and Winterville in Clapham Common. Winterville is a much smaller but cozier version of Wonderland. Again if you're not a fan of crowds or loud music, you can check out Winterville during the day. There is sooooo much to do at Winter Wonderland and you can spend hours and hours here and then would want to visit again before it shuts down in January. From markets, to rides, ice skating, games, bars, concerts and the circus- there's something for every age group here.

Hope you guys have a great time checking these out! Let me know what are your personal faves! :)
