Summer Lovin'

~Summer lovin’, happened so fast ~

It took its time but It’s finally getting to that time guys! See coming from Malaysia this is where we’re in our zone as its basically summer 365 days a year there, which means it’s time for us to break out the shorts and flip flops that we insisted on packing even though we knew we’d only get to make use of it like once in the academic year.

Nevertheless, Norwich has been nothing short of absolutely beautiful the past few days and here are some things you could do to take advantage of that. This might also be just what you need to relieve some of that final exams/ coursework stress that seems to make you age about 25 years in a span of a couple of weeks.

1.       BBQ by UEA’s Lake
-          Make use of UEA’s super handy bbq pits, grab your mates, marinate the meat. Bring your speakers and get the barbeque going! One of the highlights of my summer last year was going down and having dinner by the lake with my friends and the best view!  There might be the added bonus of little doggos running around and frolicking in the lake as well and who doesn’t love that! Apply for a barbeque pit in advance to secure a spot here ;

2.       Trip to the beach

-          Great Yarmouth
Here, in addition to a beautiful beach, you could find many activities such as boat rides, mini golf, trampolines and other amusements. ( But catch me at the ice cream shack eating my weight in cookies and cream.. don’t hate) No trip to the seaside is complete without a walk along the beach with an ice cream - preferably with a 99 stuck in it too. Alternatively you would also be able to rent out cute little beach huts.

-          Cromer Beach
One of my personal faves. Cromer has a beautiful pier which has the whole brighton pier vibes going on. Perfect clear sand and blue waters also make killer gram pics (you’re welcome) There is also a theathre on the pier hosting various summer and winter shoes which has attracted alot of attention. You may already know this but North Norfolk has such succulent, meaty, tasty lobsters and crabs which you can find in little shops along cromer beach too.

-          Hunstanton
This is located in West Nrfolk and is known for the kitesurfing and rockpooling activities. Stay and watch the gorgeous sunset which gives this beach its infamous nickname the sunny hunny x
-          There are other beaches worth checking out too for a more chilled quiet experience such as Bacton, Mundesley, and Walcott Beach all within 19 to 21 miles from Norwich.
3.

The Square @ UEA
-          Nothing like unwinding after lectures in the square  with a glass of Pimms with your mates to soak up the beautiful sun

4.       Explore our city Centre
-          There are so many hidden wonders in the streets of Norwich that i've slowly been discovering. Now its finally the perfect weather to go out and truly experience Norwich’s beautiful hidden streets! Look out for the Cobblestone streets which have appeared in a few Harry Potter scenes.  You would also find many vintage stores and shops with collectable items as well as cute boutiques.
-          While you’re there, why not check out the beautiful Museums and Art Centres, for all you art lovers. Norwich is after all known as the City of Arts and Culture, amongst other things
