Economics Society Christmas Ball
So what are balls? It's quite a British sort of social event. It's essentially a formal dinner where everyone gets to dress up where we all enjoy a lovely 3 course meal followed by dancing. Not ballroom dancing or anything, just whatever sort of dance you're feeling!
My postgraduate study is in Economics so my course mates and I all decided to attend the Economics Society Christmas Ball yesterday evening and it was an amazing night. We all met up at someone's flat on campus to have some drinks and get ready together. Then when we arrived we had a free cocktail drink and we were just mingling around and taking pictures with the lecturers and students. Our three course meal consisted of goats cheese and butternut squash salad as the starter, roast turkey for the main, and cheesecake for dessert. After dinner ended, we all started dancing and it was so fun dancing with the lecturers and everyone. When the song Heyyyy Macarena came on, every single person on the dance floor was so into the dance and we were all dancing synchronised.
It was one of the loveliest nights I've had and I hope we have more events like this in the future with our lecturers.
