How to travel around
Europe without spending much
One thing that I know for sure about myself is that I LOVE
travelling. I plan my whole life around it and one of the biggest advantage of
studying/living in the UK is the convenience of being able to go anywhere in Europe
quickly and without having to spend much. If you are like me, I have some tips
for you:
Where to go
Of course this is very personal but I have my favourites. If
you’re interested in:
Food: ITALY,
ITALY, ITALY!! Who doesn’t like good pasta and pizza? Match that with amazing gelato
for desert and you’re in food heaven.
Museums: Almost
every country has amazing museums, but my favourite has to be GERMANY, especially if you’re
interested in learning more about the World wars. You can visit old bunkers,
concentration camps and classic art museums.
Cultural immersion:
Poland, because is not an extremely popular
touristic destination you can wonder around and have a feeling on how the local
people live. They had amazing castles and even salt mines.
Beach: Malta. If
you never heard about it is a tiny country near Italy, but it has the most
amazing beaches you will see and less crowded than the Spanish and Italian ones.
Where to stay
If you want to stay in a Hostel:
Use HostelWorld, it is great to find the best hostels
around Europe. It will tell you process, availability and reviews from other
travelers. If you find one that you like try booking it with the hostel on
their own website, you may get a better price!
If you’re looking for a HOTEL:
Booking.com is definitely the way to go! It works just like Hostelworld. You
can check hotels dates, availability, price, and reviews. Once again, go on the
hotel website and see if you find a better deal there.
How to get there
Usually the cheapest way is buying a place ticket, here are
some website you can look to get the best deals.
-Edreams: It will help you find the cheapest tickets. Find
one that suits you and then check how much they are in the airline website!
Most likely will save you a couple pounds!
-Skyscanner: Works just like Edreams. Keep a look on
alternative dates that it provides. One day difference can be way cheaper!
- UK Budget airlines:
I know the extremely cheap tickets may seems like a scam,
but they are not! Budget airlines are cheap because they don’t have the normal
extras of premium airlines like meals and included bags. Your ticket usually includes
one handbag and your seat. Always do
your check in online to avoid paying for the high fee.
