Eaton Park
Though I have been enjoying the Winter Olympics (9 gold medals to Norway:D), spring is just around the corner, and I desperately want it to hurry up. It's so much nicer once the sun is out and the flowers aren't battled down by snow, rain and cold weather.
Because of the beauty of it, I try to take the time to walk through Eaton Park on my way to and from campus, and I would definitely recommend other people to visit the park. It’s situated just a couple of minutes from the university, and the park, which was opened in 1928, has a lot to offer.
Whether you're in the mood for playing football with friends, have a cup of coffee from Café Essence, watch the Norwich Model Boat Club racing each other, book a pitch for cricket, croquet, tennis or bowls, Eaton Park is the place to go. It even has a miniature railway open every Sunday from Easter to mid-October, though I suspect being a university student makes me too old for trying it, but I don't know whether they've got any restrictions on that.Eaton Park also has a skate park which is being renovated at the moment, but will be open again in May. The scenery is beautiful and, as mentioned, there are loads of possibilities for both organised sports and everything else you normally do in parks.
My plan when spring's finally here, is to have a picnic on the grass:)
As I haven't got a digital camera at the moment, I've taken the liberty of decorating this post with photos from flickr.com and friendsofeatonpark.co.uk.
