Hall dinner in UEA why not?

Image
Lately I've just visited a friend who is studying a PhD in Cambridge. Apparently, every week they had a Formal Hall or Formal Meal where students usually dress in formal attire to dine. Formals maybe also special events to which guest from outside the college are frequently invited. In a number of newer so-called red brick universities (which UEA is one of them), some halls such as those in Manchester, Bristorl, Hull and Exter also practise similar tradition. I think it is a very good way to increase interaction between academics and students, and to enrich the students' overall learning experience. It is a chance for students to dress smartly (or not), have fine-dining meals (with subsidized rate from the University), and enjoy chatting in a more relaxed environment. So, Former Hall in UEA, why not???  Best wishes for the summer from your Vietnam Student Ambassador, Chau Nguyen

Norfolk countryside, Sheringham Park

Image
Thought I would brighten up our blog with colourful pictures of Norfolk countryside! :) Today, one of my favourite places - Sheringham Park! It offers lots of different walks, as well as a beautiful flower garden! Here's a picture of me with my dog Ross (isn't he cute?!))))) And to finish off, a view of the North Sea that opens up from the park: There's also a steam train on the shot, which you can take from Sheringham! We've done it once and it was a very fun authentic experience, very British, too! :) Have a good sunny day everyone! With lots of love, Ksenia - Russian Students Ambassador
