Making -and maintaining- friendships at university can be a big challenge. If you're looking for activities that could help build bonds and allow you to meet new people, why not try board games? And no, I'm not talking about Cards Against Humanity for the fifth time this week during pre-drinks. How about something a little more engaging/ challenging? Here are some of my personal recommendations to folks who are looking to get into board games, or introduce your friends to them. I've left games like Cluedo and Monopoly because, let's admit it, we're probably all a little sick of them at this point in our lives, 1. 14.02.2020 - Halfway Setting up in the morning! This weekend I celebrated getting halfway through my medical degree at UEA (PHEW!). Our course is 5 years long and while it can feel never ending (hint: exams) our halfway ball was the perfect reminder of how much fun I've had over the last 2.5 years and how proud I am of everyones hard work. We celebrated at the lovely Langley Abbey in the Norfolk countryside. Langley Abbey is one of the oldest venues in Norfolk - and was restored after  was restored in the 1920s The 2020 planning committee - we're so grateful for all of the hard work. I'm so grateful to everyone who volunteered their time to help put this event together. All the "best dressed" in my heart My med husband. Unfortunately didn't get "best couple"   My lovely housema

A week in the life at UEA

If you’re a prospective student, you might wonder what life is like here at UEA. It’s obviously different for everyone, and it changes from week to week, but I thought I’d give you an overview of one week as an example. I’m doing Film and Television studies in my first year and I live on campus. Friday  9am: Seminar in World Cinemas. We talked about accented cinema, German and Turkish cinema and how immigration and culture affect the film industry. It was super interesting, and we were in the Enterprise centre, which I love, it’s such a nice place!  10am: Laundry time! I did two massive loads of washing after procrastinating it for a little too long… But I did it at last. Being super close to the laundrette is great as I can just go back to my room instead of having to wait in the laundrette for the machine to finish.  11am:  Lunch!  11:30am: Reading, reading and more reading… and also some Netflix.   2pm: Went to the international office and wrote some Facebook pos
