Events lined up in Week 11- EASTER!!

Week 11 is ending soon, so does our spring term! and We shall all be looking forward to Easter holidays. Although our easter holidays are only 3 weeeks this year, fear not! We have lots of events lined up this week to bring you the best of spring semester. Global Week was last week and it was a smashing week! We have events including the ISS Society: End of Term Bash and UEA Indian Society: Return of the Bhangra. Tonight the UEA Hong Kong Society is presenting their Annual General Meeting tonight at CD Annex at 7.30pm.  They will be presenting the new committee members for the next academic year 2012/2013. If you are one of the Hong Kong Society members, do come and join and give your support to the applicants as well as the existing committee members. Another event lined up tonight would be the massive ISS End of Term Bash at the Revolution Club in Norwich City Centre from 9.30pm onwards. I dedicate my drawing to all of you International Students at UEA. I find my life as a student can be a very stressful one, especially when all the deadlines just come across in the same period of time. Nevertheless, all should be paid off at the end. Pay all your efforts of this spring and live to your fullest and make you life colourful. Challenge your mind everyday. The painting resembles meanings, which you might be interested to take into account. Orange as (L) resembles courage: do one thing that scares you everyday and you will see the magic of yourself just come out. UEA International Party 2012

UEA International Party Week 10 of Spring semester 2012! One of the best ever week at UEA! It was the Go Global week, where students from all over the world meet and share the cultures. And the Mauritian Society seizes that opportunity to make people from UEA to discover the multi-coloured, multi-cultural colours of Mauritius, also known as the Paradise Island and the Key if the Indian Ocean. The UEA Mauritian Society Dance Group And we performed our traditional show: THE EPIC SEGA! The one and only music where everybody will start dancing and enjoy themselves. The dance that makes people forget they are different and make everyone stand as ONE. The International Party on Wednesday night was amazing. The other shows make the audience discover the hidden talents of their own friends, others show us the meaning of these traditions to their countries. And how can we forget about the fantastic videos that made the audience to start dreaming because of all these splendid sceneries that

'Closer' Concert

Its Global week this week but it doesn't end just yet! Another event to look forward to is the Asian Pop Music Society 'Closer' Concert!! This society is once again bringing you another unforgettable night!! The APM society mainly revolves around bringing us good music from different cultures all around Asia. Its members are very talented and thus, its a night not to be missed!! They will bring music from different Asian countries including Korean and Japanese. The APM society has been around us for the past few years and each semester they will hold one or two concerts. This year it will be held on Monday 26th March 2012 8pm onwards! Their motto for this year's concert is: With the music from our hearts and roots, We bring you 'Closer' to us than ever. Tickets are £4 (for members), £5 (advanced) and £6 (at the door). The 5th annual UEA KAOS Fashion Show

For the fifth year running the charity KAOS (Kids Action OverSeas) will be hosting their biggest event of the year, their annual fashion show held at the LCR next Sunday the 25th of March. Come along and enjoy a great night with a variety of food and clothes stalls set up all around the LCR, the bar serving as usual, dancing acts such as the African Carribean and Hindu Societies and of course the main event which is a fashion show involving UEA students modelling the clothes of several high street brands who have decided to support KAOS's cause. It promises to be a great event that will do a lot to help an even better cause so if it even sounds a bit interesting to you, come along and I promise you'll have a great time! Tickets are £4.50 when bought in advance at the UEA box office and £5 on the door and this years event will be raising money to help with KAOS's summer project of helping New Hope Children's Centre in Kenya and their other causes of helping support sus

UEA International Party 2012

Its the time of the year again where International students in UEA gather to perform and show their cultures to everyone. The UEA Global Week starts on the 19th-25th March 2012. The UEA International Party also known as 'Global Party LCR' will be held on the 21st March 2012. There will be students from different countries all over the world who have worked hard to prepare a glorious feast and performances for the audience (hopefully is YOU!) for that night. All the different societies will be performing on stage including Brunei Society (BRUSEA), Malaysia Society, Indonesia Society, Chinese Society (CSSA), Asian Society, Indian Society, etc. There will also be FOOD served before the perfomances begin. All these different types of food will be perpared and served by all the different societies participating in the event. You'll get to try all the different cultural food so please arrive early to get your share of the food. The event itenary is usually like this: 7pm -

Mothers hold the power that can give the world’s greatest gift, a gift that brings you and I together, the gift of life. Raising a child is not an easy job; it is not a 9-5 shift so we definitely need more than one day to give our precious mothers flowers and gifts. Mother’s day however helps us take time out of our busy schedule to show those who are truly important how much we love and appreciate them. Our mothers have been there right from when we were born, gave us our first meal, encouraged us to take our first steps, cared for us during both good and bad times, put us before themselves when we were children, were there at our beck and call and scolded us when we were going out of focus just to make sure we turn out our best. None of us would be where we are today if not for our mothers who birthed us and helped us walk along the earth.
