UEA's Malaysian Office

Hi everyone! UEA has recently opened its first Asian regional office in Kuala Lumpur and I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to put together a video for the opening event. Norfolk and Norwich Festival

If you're in or around Norfolk from the 9th to the 24th of May, you really have no excuse not to attend this event! This is a yearly arts festival which collaborates with local, national and international partners to produce a huge amount of work for a variety of audiences. It is one of the oldest surviving arts festivals in the UK: its origins can be traced back to 1772! However, it was not until 1988 that the Festival more or less as we know it today became an annual event.         The first acts for 2014 are being confirmed just now, and, according to their website, include:   Two superstars of contemporary music – Madeleine Peyroux and Hugh Masekela – play major concerts in Norwich for the very first time. [...] There are two exhilarating new shows from Festival favourites Circa and Michael Clark Company , whilst the Festival Chorus unite with the renowned Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra , fresh from their performances at The Proms and Royal F

Hello ! Hope you had a great Christmas break (I know I had !) and Happy come back to the exiting life of a UEA student ! As I am sure, you all had your share of party during the last two week of December but believe it or not it is not the end for lots of countries abroad. If I take the example of a "random" country, let's say France , you will be surprise to learn than 3 more celebrations take place before Easter. 1) First Sunday of January is called the " Epiphany " : to celebrate the arrival of the 3 Wise King. This is a family gathering. Although it is not public holiday, the habit of the King Cake is still very strong. On that day, we all buy a King Cake (Frangipane, Chocolate Chip one or Apple flavour) and the one who gets the part with the trinket (or fêve ) inside get a crown but has to buy the next King Cake for the next day or Week, and this goes on until All bought one. 2) Chandeleur : On the 1st week end of February,
