But first coffee!

Having been here for two years now, I would say that I have had my fair share of coffee runs in Norwich. I can vouch for it when i say that Norwich has so many great places to get your coffee fix.            1. Strangers Coffee House  This has to be my favorite coffee place in Norwich, and might I also say, one of my favorite places out of all the places I've been while being in the UK so far. I always find myself heading to the direction of Strangers whenever I'm in the city centre and everytime i tell myself I don't need coffee, I still end up leaving the city with a cup from Strangers anyway.  My go to would be their Mocha which is basically just heaven in a cup. At most places I've been, you don't really taste the chocolate but with strangers, it's an entirely different story. Not only do you get taste the coffee, you also taste the rich chocolate. It is just a must have especially in this cold weather.            2. Ancestors Coff

The Wonders of Bulk Cooking

Recently, I came home to my shared house to discover a housemate of mine cooking what appeared to be enough food for an entire football team - after a long match. Vegetables, steak, pork, rice, you name it. I politely asked him if he was okay (Depression and excessive food eating are good mates) but soon discovered that he was preparing enough food to last him most of the week. Now, bulk cooking isn't new to me as a uni student but my attempts had always been rather feeble, involving maybe enough pasta (joy) for two-three meals at most. But after witnessing my mate in all his chef-like glory, I decided to try a little harder and see if it would prove helpful. So yesterday I headed to the nearest Tesco and procured myself a packet of rice, some packets of meat and a bag of frozen chopped vegetables. The whole thing cost me 6 pounds 50p, and from what I'd worked out should be enough to last me 5 meals. Doing some simple math gives you 1 pound 20p per meal, which s

Back to School

As a medical student, I get a shorter break than everyone else (which I'm not very happy about), which means I'm already back at university! The university is eerily quiet, but it also means that I'm able to really appreciate my surroundings on campus without the usual hustle and bustle. I didn't need to wait for my coffee at UNIO which I'm very grateful for! Although my break was short, I've had a very eventful break. Unlike most other times where I go home for Christmas, I (similar to what a lot of international students experience) stayed in the UK for the winter holidays. Instead, my parents came to Europe. I had the opportunity to bring them around Norwich and show them my every day life; where I live, where I shop, where I go to university and more! They really enjoyed the experience of getting to know more about my life in the UK, and they remarked it's quite a different experience from when they came to drop me off, as now I have the knowled
