A White Christmas.... or maybe not :-D

No topic is more discussed in the UK than the weather! From teenagers, to toddlers, to the elderly and university students. The weather is one thing that impacts all our lives in the same way. "Do you think it will rain? " , "When do you think it'll start snowing?", "I heard on the news yesterday that the snow's coming in on Friday". Everyone who was here last year in December/ January can testify that it was the most horrible weather seen in quite some time. So, it makes sense that there was so much talk and buzz about the weather this year.
December 2011 came, and with it came cold winds and speculations of days as to when it would start snowing. I personally know a few (very few, just a handful , or even less) people who were looking forward to experiencing a white Christmas. Of course the idea is always nice, waking up on Christmas day to a couple of inches of the white snow outside your window, delicately fallen on the trees and decorating car roof tops as well. However we mustn't forget the side effects of this picturesque post card moment, cold noses, heavier jackets, wet shoes and most annoyingly wet feet! And after we've trudged up and down in the snow , it's no longer white, its dirty and melting and not such a postcard moment after all!
January 2012 came, and with it came colder winds and more speculations of days as to when it would start  snowing. Along came the rain, most of the days and some of the nights and this time round predictions (not speculations) of  when it would start snowing. So we all went through January cautiously, after all we had made it through Christmas with no snow, we were all pretty certain it was going to hit in January and hit hard. Unfortunately (OR FORTUNATELY), the month of January is coming to an end, and no snow has fallen. We've made it to February and I think we can all relax now. So now I can happily, safely and undoubtedly say HAPPY holidays! (emphasis on happy!)
WE MADE IT! CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!!!! :-D
