Hull

Last week, I had the opportunity to give a lecture about American politics in Hull, a town in the north of England near York.  (One of the great things about studying at UEA is definitely being part of an awesome rail network and closely-knit universities that like to share students and opportunities!)

What's in Hull, you ask?
Well, just for starters:
  • The birthplace of William Wilberforce, a leading British abolitionist and Member of Parliament.

  • The biggest parish church in England.

  • A port town with gorgeous waterways and lots of old boats.

  • Lots of museums about north England's natural and industrial history.

  • A pub hosting the Plotting Parlour, where Yorkshire governors planned to bar the King from the city, helping spark the Civil War.

And lots more!  UK cities, even the smallest ones, are rich with history and character.  And Norwich is no exception, as you can see from our other blog posts!

As always, feel free to get in touch about any questions on life in Norwich, studying at the University of East Anglia, or exploring the UK.
