The breath of winter

It was not until this year that I realised that weather is a great topic for discussion. Here, in England, it changes almost every 5 minutes and the only way to predict what will come next is to name something completely opposite to what you can see from your window!

However, during the last couple of days it was surprisingly logical in its changes. Someone up there realised that it is November and it is time to switch on North wind, icy rain and to shut the sky with clouds. It is already the third day running that everyone is talking about the upcoming winter, Christmas holidays and the cold breath of winter behind their shoulders. The picture is completed with the short days, lack of sunshine and the abundance of electric lights in our lives.

As for me everything is not so depressing. I look forward to the Christmas celebration, fairy-tale-like decorated shop windows and the abundance of the garland lights. Such an early festive mood is complemented by the feeling of freedom and excitement of a relatively vacant reading week.

Whatever comes next, be it tests or essay to submit, there always will be the feeling of a holiday somewhere really close, which would warm the hearts of those suffering from the work or studies. So, while there is still some work to do, I advise you to get a cup of coffee to warm youself take a sit somewhere in front of the window or fireplace (if you are completely frozen) and dream of the fĂȘte to come.

Yet not completely frozen,

Alisa =)
