Hello to Spring!!

It's again the time of the year where you see 70% of the Sun in the daylight, flowers blooming, temperatures rising and of course, bunch of people sitting and  hanging around in the square with t-shirts, shorts and slippers! Yes, guys! Spring has just conquered Norwich! It's been such an amazing winter but we will see you again soon! But look at the bright side, more carnivals and flowers blooming all around you!!

To start it off, today's Derby Day, where UEA and Uni of Essex kicks it off with up to 50 sports events! Whether you are one of the competitors or just spectators, you should not miss this wonderful event!!! If you can't make it to see the competitions but eager to know the results, then the Bar and the Hive has it all!! Results will be posted there for everyone to see!! :)) Well, if you love facebook then, the Concrete Sports has all the updated and recent results: http://en-gb.facebook.com/ueaconcretesport.

Tonight's there's going to be a fun and awesome 'Mamak Night', where the UEA Malaysian Soceity presents their local and traditional food and drinks. It will be held at C.Hall 0.17 tonight from 8.30pm onwards!! Its only one pound each per entry and you'd get to eat a few of the main traditional and local Malaysian cuisine!! One of which I'm really missing is the famous 'Teh Tarik' i.e. Tea with milk. It's not just ordinary milk they are using but sweetened milk and it definitely will leave a lingering taste in your mouth forever!! :))

Two weeks from now, it will be the start of our Easter Holidays! During this period, there will be loads of activities going around UEA and Norwich. One of the major activities, not only for students but for everyone from different age groups and families, which is the Easter Carnival that takes place every year during Easter holidays in April at the Chapelfield Gardens. I remember the tickets to the carnival were £20 each for all rides for 1 whole day. Not to forget, Easter is the time to see flowers blooming all around you, and thus, gardens and parks are the best place to gather with friends and families or have a barbeque session!! More details of what to see or do during Easter can be found here: http://www.visitnorwich.co.uk/riversidewalk.aspx

Not to forget, what does Easter represents? Easter represents the central feast, and the season of the church year just two days after Good Friday, which falls on the 24th April this year. Easter eggs and/or Easter bunnies are mostly seen during  this season. Well, it is basically another time where you get to gather again with family and friends in celebrating this joyous season. More details on the history of Easter can be found here: http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/customs/easter.html

Although Easter holidays is the time to start looking at your books and start cramping yourselves up, do spend some time to push away your studies and enjoy the warm and sunny sunshine whenever you feel like releasing stress.

That's all for now. Till next time!
