UEA Derby day- UEA versus University of Essex
The sun was shining high up in the sky and there was an uproaring atmosphere reigning across the whole of campus of University of East Anglia since the early morning hours . So what was all this rush and enthusiasms that students came to the campus on this sunny Wednesday? That was the so longly awaited derby day where UEA sports clubs play against the sports clubs of University of Essex.
The weather provided a perfect atmosphere to start with. Students were dressed in a multi-coloured and very suppportive manner for their university's sports club. UEA welcomed a large number of students from Essex University. In brief, it was a fun day where students were taking advantage of the perfect sunny weather to disguise themselves in different colourful ways and styles in order to support their teams.
There were all sort of sports events in which UEA compete aginst Essex University. These range from football, hockey, boxing, badminton, swimming, basket-ball, volley-ball and the most exciting ones which are cheerleeding and rugby. In each of these events, there was a fantastic public who showed their support to their team mates but above all, they showed their interests in such a perfect derby day at UEA and they were enjoying themselves as well as making new friends.
The most exciting events were the cheerleading and the rugby match. A very large public attended these two events. They showed how they enjoyed every bits of these activities. Some students were singing and dancing to support their teams while others were very responsive to every moves that were very attractive to the public. The fabulous part of these events occurred when UEA students and Essex University students start teasing each other during the rugby match for every special actions being played. Briefly, the public showed their interests and enthusiasms in every bit of the plays.
Finally the UEA derby day ended with a party in the LCR where students, disguised in sports outfits, enjoyed themselves on the dance floor and at the same time got the opportunities to meet and make new friends. Afterall, it was a very fascinating and memorable Derby Day 2011 organised by UEA.
