Hyde Park Winter Wonderland

Last weekend I went to the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland in London, in order to kick off the festive season properly!

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland will be open 10 am-10pm everyday except Christmas Day until the 4th of January 2015.  I went there on a Sunday, which I wouldn't recommend if you don't like busy places! Weekday mornings are usually the best time to go.

Despite its many rides, Winter Wonderland is much more than just a funfair. You can go ice skating, there's a huge ferris wheel, plenty of places to drink mulled wine, or even go to the circus! There's also fancier things like an Ice Bar! Some of these you have to book beforehand as they tend to get quite busy so it's worth having a look at what's on offer, but there's concession prices for students as well!  My personal highlight was eating roasted chestnuts, as they're quite typical where I'm from in Spain!

The circus performance was truly breathtaking

There's even a carousel bar!

And what is more, Hyde Park is next to Oxford Street, which is looking very Christmassy! Don't miss the opportunity to do some Christmas shopping if you're around-- there's a very large Primark just around the corner :-)

The most comfortable way to get there from Norwich is by train. Once in Liverpool Street Station, the Tube will get you there in just under 15 minutes: take the Central line and get off at Marble Arch.
