Discovering Norwich - Norwich City University of the ARTS

Memories from Norwich City - Norwich University of the Arts

Recently I had a presentation and attended a conference at the Norwich University of the Arts, also known as NUA. This institution is not part of the University of East Anglia. However attending this conference allowed me to have a visit within the NUA facilities, which were great for an institution teaching in ARTS.

NUA mainly has one big building where courses are delivered mostly. Among the many interesting things that catch the eyes within this small institution of Arts in Norwich, NUA exhibition centre, also known as the East Gallery, is the most fascinating.

The East Gallery is an exciting, city centre gallery space showcasing the best modern and contemporary art through its curated exhibitions programme. During my short visit to the gallery, I visited an exposition on "computer art in virtual reality created by artist William Latham with mathematicians and software developers Stephen Todd and Lance Putnam."

I was lucky enough to try their Virtual Reality software to myself create several blends organic imagery with state-of-the-art, real-time computer animation to create a highly immersive and original audience experience. The picture below gives an indication of the colourful and fantastic patterns the virtual reality software gadget permits you to do in 3-D space.
